Center for Democracy and Human Rights - CEDEM, in cooperation with TV Prva, organizes training "Standards of Investigative Journalism, Best Practice and Application of the Code of Ethics of Journalists" on September 25-26, and "Investigative Journalism - watchdog approach" September 26 - 27 in the hotel "City" in Podgorica. The training is intended for representatives of the media and the civil sector, and a special emphasis is placed on the so-called. freelance journalists.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the capacity of the media in Montenegro to report on the criminal justice, through increasing the quality and credibility of investigative journalism in line with the standards of the European Union and the Council of Europe, as well as the Code of Journalists of Montenegro.
The training is led by representatives of the Balkan Research Network from Sarajevo and Belgrade, as well as an independent expert from Podgorica. The first training will contribute to the participants acquiring skills and knowledge in the field of investigative journalism standards, as well as the application of the Code of Ethics in reporting media on the criminal justice system. The second training refers to the "watchdog" approach and its reporting in which participants will work on their stories and use them in further work.
The training is part of the project "Strengthening the role of media in the promotion of criminal justice in Montenegro" financed through the European Union's Media Professionalization Program.
