Representative of CEDEM, Marija Vuksanovic, participated in a study visit to Brussels, organized by the Pontis Foundation and the Balkan Network for the Development of Civil Society, from 17/20 September.The study visit is part of the Balkan Public Policy Fund, which is supported by the Slovak Agency for Development Assistance (Slovak Aid). This Fund aims at supporting the participation of civil society organizations and independent researchers in the process of shaping, implementation and monitoring of public policies in the Western Balkans. Participants of the study visit had the opportunity to present their policy products to representatives of the EU institutions and EU-based civil society organizations and network. During the study visits, participants had a set of meetings with representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, Amnesty International, the European Policy Centre and the Permanent Representation of Slovak Republic to the EU. Representative of CEDEM presented policy paper "Independent and Impartial Judiciary in Montenegro-key obstacles and challenges" that was prepared with the support of Slovak Aid, as well as other activities CEDEM deals with in the field of judiciary. Part of the discussion was devoted to the forthcoming Progress Report, as well as negotiations for the accession of Montenegro to the European Union.
