This handbook is the result of an eighteen-month Euclid Network program on leadership development in the Western Balkans. The program was implemented with the support of the Foreign Office and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom (FCO) and with the cooperation of three local partners in the region: CEDEM (Montenegro), HDPC (Albania), and ATRC (Kosovo). This guide is intended to be a useful tool to support, guide and inform current and future leaders in the Balkans regarding the best ways to establish, manage and sustain an NGO. The handbook summarizes the key research findings of this project, offers expert advice on EU funding and the development of social enterprises, and presents six case studies of local NGOs.
