Investigative journalism is possible to contribute to changes in everything that needs to change in Montenegro, and it is very important that journalists dealing with this type of journalism get the status of officials. This was announced at the press conference of the Center for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) on the presentation of the results of the project "Improving Local Media Practices in the Fight Against Corruption and Organized Crime", financially supported by the United States Embassy in Montenegro. Project Coordinator (CEDEM), Marko Pejovic, said that the project's goal is to contribute to Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro through increasing the quality of the credibility of investigative journalism in the field of corruption and organized crime."The purpose of the project was to strengthen the capacities of local journalists that would result in a more professional approach to the research process, as well as more credible reporting in the field of corruption and organized crime. What makes this project special is that local public broadcasters are involved as well as commercial, so we included ten journalists from three local public broadcasters and four commercial in Pljevlja, Kotor, Ulcinj, Bar, and Berane, " Pejovic said. In his words, the importance of investigative journalism for all societies, especially for transition societies and developing countries, is very important, especially at the local level."Journalists researchers must change everyday life and fight for a better society, not accepting the world as it is, and this is what makes the key difference between daily journalism and investigative journalism. Promoting investigative journalism can contribute to changes in everything that needs to change in Montenegro, and in that sense, investigative journalism is the counterweight of tabloid journalism, "Pejovic pointed out. He believes that such projects should be the answer to the tabloidization of journalism in Montenegro and the strengthening of all structures that will, as he said, jointly promote the idea of investigative journalism and contribute to strengthening the fight for the rule of law and democratization of society.
