CEDEM organized consultative meeting today for the purposes of the research project "Anti-corruption mechanisms and accountability of police officers in Montenegro". This research is being implemented in the period August-November 2013. It's aim is to asssess the previous range of anti-corruption mechanisms in the fight against corruption in police. The project is supported by the OSCE office in Podgorica.
Representatives of the Ministry of Interior and the Police Administration, as well as representatives of civil society, engaged in the fight against corruption and reform of the security sector, took part in the meeting.
Topics of the meeting held at the hotel "Ramada" were: 1 Fighting corruption in the police - specific information; 2. Cooperation between different internal mechanisms of control and oversight over the police work, 3. Cooperation with external anti-corruption mechanisms; 4. The role of civil society, and 5. Comments on the draft of the study.
Information from the discussions will be utilized to update the study, which will be published in mid-December.
