In Montenegro, there is no systematic education for young people on security sector reform, jurisdiction and functioning of the security services, neither on the key challenges that the aforementioned services are facing in that process. This social group is not adequately involved in the process of public policy making and monitoring of their implementation.
Therefore, this project aims to raise awareness and understanding of young people about the security sector, its responsibilities and work of security services, as well as the key challenges and threats which these services are facing.
This project is particularly focused on: 1) students/activists; 2) trainees and young officers/employees in state institutions (with particular emphasis on employees of the Police, the Army of Montenegro , the Ministry of Defence , members of parliament )
3) Young Leaders of political parties in Montenegro ; and 4 ) the young actors in civil society. The ultimate beneficiaries of this project are all citizens of Montenegro.
The main activities of the project are: the selection of participants of the training, organization and implementation of the program of the school, preparation and promotion of the Youth platform, organizing visits for the students to key security services and the preparation of the Guide through the security services. Project activities will be conducted in Podgorica and Ulcinj.
