Young people are a great asset for progress and, as such,  they deserve support. On the other hand, young people also bear the responsibility of becoming active and promoting their agenda through existing modes of action that facilitate their participation, such as parliaments of schools and universities, youth organizations, etc., given the lack of mechanisms at the local level. The purpose of the project is to overcome the observation of youth participation through traditional civic activities such as voting, consultation and ultimately adopting youth quotas. This project aims at fostering youth participation at the local level and strengthening existing mechanisms for their participation, through dialogue and identifying youth needs, strengthening the capacity of municipal officials to work with young people, as well as multisectoral meetings to improve the overall environment to support youth participation at the local level. Through the implementation of activities aimed at raising awareness of the importance of youth participation at the local level, identifying the needs of young people and developing a culture of participation, and strengthening the capacities of officials responsible for youth issues in local governments, the development of a culture of participation will be encouraged. Within the framework of this project, a research will be conducted on the topic of political participation and civic activism of the youth of Montenegro and an analysis of the current state and effectiveness of youth activities in structures at the local level, as well as a series of events such as round tables, info panels, as well as presenting key findings and a set of recommendations for local authorities, schools, youth organizations and youth to increase civic activism and develop a culture of participation with the training of municipal youth officers.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Sport and Youth of Montenegro.
